GUPPies must be 4 years old by May 31 to participate.
Guppy Parent Meeting will be held on May 15th at 4:30pm at SCR I/IV Clubhouse
Guppy assessments will be May 17th-19th at 4:30 p.m. Swimmers will be assigned a day for their guppy assessment. These times will be announced at the meeting on May 15th.
Placement of guppy swimmers will be based on maturity, skill, and ability. Guppies will be placed in one of three guppy groups: Blue, Yellow, or White. The groups are designed to best meet the needs of each individual swimmer. Some swimmers, after this guppy assessment, will be recommended to swim on the Shark team and some will be recommended to have formal swim lessons. Based on how a swimmer develops throughout the season, the coaches may recommend that the swimmer be moved to the a different guppy level or the Shark team.
Swimmers and siblings of swimmers are not allowed to free swim in the pool or baby pool until the pool is officially opened for the day. A lifeguard must be on duty.
Attention Guppy Parents:
Most of our SCR coaches will give private lessons throughout the summer. Please see one of them at the pool to inquire and schedule.

Volunteer opportunities will be available for parents during the guppy swim meet. These meets last approximately one hour and typically start at 9:00AM. Participating guppies will receive a light snack, usually a juice box or popsicle, at the completion of the meet.
Please know the meets are not mandatory. Although your swimmer will be timed, the swimmers will not be ranked. The events are usually one lap (25 yards) with a kickboard, one lap of freestyle, and one lap of backstroke. Coaches and volunteers will be in the water to assist guppies when necessary. All guppies receive a ribbon for each event swam during a meet. Again, the guppy can swim as many or as few events as wanted.
